WHEN DID YOU REALISE THAT YOU WANTED TO BE ACANDLE MAKER?
I always loved candles! I used to own a cafe in which we had a large candle holder where we burned loads of different candles. The inspiration came from there! One day I decided to try to make some candles myself.
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WOULD BE DOING TODAY IF YOU WEREN'T A CANDLE MAKER?
I would be doing something related to nature, probably linked to aromatherapy.
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY ARE THE CHALLENGES OF HAVING A CANDLE AND SKINCARE BRAND NOWADAYS?
I find that the most challenging part is maintaining the quality in making candles and skincare products from natural resources. Every year the raw material quality changes due to the change in harvest years.
WHAT DOES A NORMAL DAY AS A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER LOOK LIKE?
I wake up, I exercise and do some yoga with my family. Then I take my kids to school and get ready for the work day. A typical day consists of many meetings and discussions with my amazing team about product making and marketing. In the evening I spend time with my family and relax reading lots of books.

COULD YOU PLEASE TELL US A BIT MORE ABOUT YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS WHEN IT COMES TO DESIGNING AND MAKING?
My biggest inspiration is all the nature that we have here in Latvia. Sometimes the aroma and other times the visual look of a product comes first, but both are equally important to me.
EACH ARTWORK IS DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE. HOWEVER, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE YOU, ON AVERAGE, TO MAKE ONE OF YOUR PRODUCTS?
The candle making process is different for each product, but for example the Naturella candle from the beginning to the finished product takes around 8 hours total to make.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO COMMUNICATE TO THE PERSON WHO PURCHASES ONE OF YOUR PRODUCTS?
That every candle and oil is carefully and lovingly handmade using only natural materials from the forest and meadow.
A MORE SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLE IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO US AND OUR CUSTOMERS. COULD YOU TELL US WHAT YOU DO TO APPROACH YOUR BUSINESS IN A MORE SUSTAINABLE WAY?
Sustainability is one of our most important intentions. We take this into mind in each product we make and during the production process. In our products we only use natural and renewable materials. We stay away from plastic.
