Creating your own ring design, with Deborah, Creative Director of Deborah Tseng Jewellery.

Every culture from prehistoric times has created and worn some form of jewellery, an appreciation of beauty and adornment are inherent in all peoples.  Lost wax casting is a method of making free form metal jewellery that has been around for over 6000 years and still lives on to this day.

Wax carving is the first step in lost wax casting and is the most creative and mindful step in the jewellery making process.  Sculpting and carving three dimensional forms with no limit to your imagination is a true creative process that absorbs your attention and quiets every other thought.

This class will begin with an introduction to the lost wax casting process and the tools and techniques you will be using throughout the class, then you will get started on creating your very own casting in whatever style you wish.

You will be expertly and kindly guided by Deborah Tseng, creative director of Deborah Tseng Jewellery who has exhibited her handmade sculptural art jewellery in New York, London and Europe.

All tools and materials are included in the workshop – just bring yourself and enjoy a relaxed evening learning more about the process and unleashing your creativity.

Your jewellery creation can then, for only £75 extra, be cast in solid Sterling Silver, polished and finished by Deborah and posted to you for you to keep forever.  For other material types or platings, check the different options. Engraving and other services are also available at additional cost.

THINGS TO REMEMBER

Please, arrive 5-10 minutes before the workshop starts.

The closest tube station is Aldgate East or Shoreditch High Street Overground Station.

You will find us at our Dray Walk boutique surrounded by plants!

There is a minimum number of 5 attendees required for the workshop to go ahead. If this number is not reached, we will be in touch 5 days prior to the workshop to re-arrange it to a later date of your choice.
